Now Introducing the Elastic Waist A-Line Skirt Class!! Learn the basics of an A line skirt foundation. Learn; pattern cutting, straight seams, serging, pockets, elastic casing, inserting elastic, hemming, and more!
You will need to provide your own fabric. After signing up please email me your waist measurement and desired skirt length measurement so I can assist you in determining how much fabric to purchase. It’s also important I have your waist measurement to make your custom pattern fit correctly. (please see the flyers attached for more info). If you choose to use our fabric it’s a colorful flower print linen blend at $5/ yard.
We have two home machines available as well as 2 industrial sewing machines. If you have your own sewing machine feel free to bring it! It must be in working order and have all the necessary parts to get started. You will need, a presser foot, bobbins, thread, foot pedal and power cord. We cannot fix sewing machines or provide any parts. Our machines are first come first serve. If you want to use one of ours please email me to reserve a machine, requesting if you want the home machine or industrial.
One machine I recommend is the singer heavy duty home sewing machine. It’s quality while still being cost effective. You can try ours first before considering making a purchase. If you get a new one feel free to bring it in and we can help you set it up.
This class will run in person September the 12 (Saturday) and the following weekend September the 19th. Classes are approximately 2 hours long. Classes begin at 10 am and run to about 12-12:30 pm. Held at our studio 1100 Wicomico Street, Baltimore, MD 21230 (AKA Baltimore Innovation Center). Classes are also capped at 3 students to allow for individualized attention.
